Ingredients
4 slices of bread, such as sourdough or whole grain
1 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted, and sliced
1 large tomato, sliced
4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
Fresh basil leaves, optional
2 tbsp butter, softened
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients:
1. Slice the avocado and tomato.
2. Slice the mozzarella cheese if it’s from a fresh block.
3. Optionally, season the tomato slices lightly with salt and pepper.
Assemble the Sandwich:
1. Lay out the bread slices. On two slices, layer the avocado slices, followed by tomato slices, then the mozzarella cheese. Add fresh basil leaves if desired.
2. Top with the remaining slices of bread to form two sandwiches.
Grill the Sandwich:
1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
