Indulge in the rich flavors of the Mediterranean with this Cheesy Mediterranean Stromboli. Filled with savory meats and cheeses, enveloped in a golden, buttery crust, this delightful dish is perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

– 1 tube of refrigerated pizza crust
– 8 slices of prosciutto
– 10 slices of spicy soppressata
– 12 slices of chorizo
– 8 slices of provolone cheese or 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 2 teaspoons of fresh basil, chopped
– 3 tablespoons of grated Pecorino Romano cheese


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the pizza crust package.
2. In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave, then mix in the minced garlic, basil, and Pecorino Romano cheese. Set the mixture aside.
3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
4. Stretch the pizza crust on the prepared baking sheet to almost the size of the sheet.
5. Layer the prosciutto, soppressata, and chorizo evenly over the stretched crust.
6. Top the meats with slices of provolone or sprinkling of shredded mozzarella cheese.
7. Roll the Stromboli lengthwise carefully, ensuring the seam is sealed well.
8. Pinch and tuck the ends of the dough to seal them neatly under the Stromboli.
9. Make a few scores across the top of the Stromboli with a serrated knife to let steam escape during baking.
10. Spread the prepared garlic-butter mixture generously over the top of the Stromboli.
11. Bake in the preheated oven for the same duration recommended for a pizza as per the dough packaging.
